The client, troche for who we were proposing schemes for luxury serviced apartments in Kampala, at a neighbourhood called Mbuya, had asked that we create two schemes for the apartments, one with a contemporary feel and another with a traditional look.
This is what we had proposed for the traditional look.
We developed a concept that is calm, orderly and predictable. Material selection was critical, from the natural stone cuttings on the walls to careful use of timber to emphasize that rustic feel without necessarily creating an outdated look.
Bright colours have been used on the walls to brighten up the rooms. Furniture selection exhibits classic lines and understated details. It is functional, unfussy, and restful looking. Edges are soft, smooth, and blend into the whole.
